Echo Project: Field Experiment at Contact in the Desert
Mission & Goals
At Conscious Contact Works, our mission is to advance the scientific understanding of Human Initiated Contact Experiences (HICE) through rigorous, data-driven research. We aim to bridge the gap between subjective experiences and objective measurements, using advanced technology to capture and analyze multi-modal data during HICE events.
Our primary goals are:
01.
–
Advance Scientific Understanding of HICE
Conduct comprehensive, sensor-based studies to contribute empirical data to the field of HICE research, using cutting-edge technology. Develop innovative analytical methods to further our understanding of HICE and consciousness research.
02.
–
Identify and Validate Unique Contact Signatures / Support Experiencers
Analyze collected data to isolate patterns or signatures that differentiate genuine contact events from conventional phenomena. Empower experiencers by providing objective, scientifically-collected data to validate their encounters and offering tools for documenting their experiences.
03.
–
Promote Transparency in UAP/NHI Research
Foster a culture of openness by publishing our findings and raw data, inviting collaboration and scrutiny from the broader scientific community.
04.
–
Expand Research Capabilities and Impact
Increase our data collection capacity to enhance the scope and depth of our research.
The Echo Project is our field research initiative focused on in-person events where participants attempt contact while we collect real-time data using tools like EEG, HRV, and radio spectrum monitoring. The goal is to explore what’s happening—neurologically, environmentally, and experientially—during these moments. We’re committed to scientific rigor, transparency, and supporting experiencers by documenting events in a way that’s clear, respectful, and open to review. As the project continues, we’ll keep refining our methods and contributing to a broader understanding of consciousness and potential non-human intelligence.
“Clark: Are you suggesting that the investigator should attempt to experience the phenomenon himself?
Vallee: Yes, I think that's sound scientific practice.”

Journey
The Echo Project began when founder Jared Garcia presented at the Roswell UFO Symposium, calling for more rigorous, data-driven research into Human Initiated Contact Experiences (HICE). With support from a Future Folklore grant, we developed our first Echo sensor kits and began capturing real-world data during contact attempts. These early results—shared openly with the community—helped confirm the value of combining subjective experience with objective measurement.
Today, Echo has evolved into a field research program built around in-person events. We're inviting more experiencers to take part, using EEG, HRV, and other sensors to study what happens during these encounters. Our goal is simple: document the process honestly, support those who show up, and learn as much as we can along the way.
